What is covered by the program fee?

10-day program fee includes:

  •  Accommodations for all 10 days
  •  All breakfast
  • Complimentary use of personal international mobile phone

Not included

  • airfare: $1,450-$1,800* (estimated)
  • Lunch and dinner $150 (estimated)
  • additional private cooking lessons (optional): $100 ($10/hour)

  • tourist visa fee: $60
How does payment work?

The participant must submit the $750 non-refundable program deposit within 14 days of their acceptance date. The remaining balance must be paid within 60 days of their acceptance date.

Regarding refunds, the participant is eligible for a refund excluding the non-refundable trip deposit, following this schedule:

  • 100% refund of the remaining balance – if participant withdraws more than 120 days before program start date;
  • 50% refund of the remaining balance – if participant withdraws more than 90 days before program start date;
  • 25% refund of the remaining balance – if participant withdraws from the trip more than 60 days before program start date; and
  • No refund of the remaining balance – if participant withdraws from the trip 60 days or less than 60 days before program start date.
  • The $750 program deposit is non-refundable
What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept the following forms of payment: credit card, wire transfer such as CashApp or Zelle direct deposit into Sankofa Ghana Tour’s U.S. bank account. There is a 2.5% transaction fee when paying the remaining balance by credit card (3% for American Express).

As a courtesy, this charge is waived on the initial $750 non-refundable deposit.
